Machine Learning Engineer
Dataseat was founded in 2019 by two industry veterans and Entrepreneurs David Philippson & Dr. Paul Hayton with the goal to change and improve the way App marketers run their programmatic media campaigns.
The company provides a Bidder or DSP as a service to App marketers to in-house programmatic media buying for user acquisition and re-engagement as well as SDKs for gaming companies to use for cross promo and direct deals.
Dataseat was acquired by MGI in July 2022 and is now part of the Verve group.
The role will sit within the Data Science team and you will be part of the programmatic advertising in-house revolution, developing contextual ML models, producing insight for our customers and supporting product and commercial teams.
We operate in a big data environment, receiving in excess of 250,000 qps (queries per second) which we have to score in real time and respond within milliseconds with a decision to bid or not.

Responsibilities

ML model building using cutting edge algorithms (Deep Learning, XGBoost, GBM, etc.) from a proof of concept to productionised models, monitoring the performance of live models bidding in real time and producing insight for customers (understand what drives installs/retention behaviours).

Continuous research and improvements on productionised models, including ML feature engineering and model training tuning to reflect changes in users’ behaviours and market dynamic.

Collaborating closely with the commercial team to identify, develop and optimise business opportunities.

Generating insight from campaign data using Python, Tableau, and other technologies to satisfy customers’ needs.

Reviewing, monitoring and optimising running campaigns and integrations providing advice and troubleshooting for customers.
Requirements

STEM degree or relevant experience. Experience in online mobile advertising is a plus.

5+ year experience with a SQL-like query language, Python, Spark, Scala and handling large datasets. Experience with Zeppelin and AWS Redshift is an advantage.

Working industry experience in real-time bidding environments.

Good communicator who can explain and understand complex problems while dealing with both non-technical and technical teams.

Ability to query large amounts of data, build models and derive insights for customers.

Ability to structure and solve difficult problems with minimal supervision.
